Roatán celebrates Heritage Month with Miss Mango International

Roatán is proudly celebrating Heritage Month, organized by the English-speaking community of black Afro-descendants in August.

From the 1st to the 31st of August, a series of activities are carried out, among which the realization of Miss Herencia Mango 2021 stands out, which highlights and promotes the beauty of the English-speaking Afro-descendant woman of the island.

This event takes place on the night of the Mango Festival where several young females will represent their communities and that this year will take place on August 14 in the municipality of Santos Guardiola, on the east side of Roatan island.

Each young woman participating will be evaluated in the category of typical costume, cultural and gala costumes, as well as a series of questions that they will have to answer in the best way and this manner, choose the best representative of the month of inheritance.

The communities represented are Los Fuertes, Mangrove Bight, Bentle Bay, The Point S.H., The Bight S.H., Wild Cane, Pandy Town, North Side S.H., Diamond Rock, Calabash Bight, West End, and The Point Utila.

As a result of this contest, the winners have the opportunity to represent Honduras abroad, in contests such as Miss Colombia Coco, where they can demonstrate their talents outside the island.
