Cruiseshippers return to Roatan

Roatan Island, wore their finery to welcome thousands of cruise passengers aboard the ship Carnival Vista docked at Mahogany Bay, representing the return of the cruises to the island and reactivation of tourism in Honduras.

The Carnival Vista arrived to Roatán in the morning carrying approximately 2,500 to 3,000 cruise passengers. It came direct from the city of Galveston, in the state of Texas and will continue its course later in the afternoon to Belize and Cozumel.

Passengers who decided to go ashore could enjoy the natural beauty that the island offers, like world class beaches in West Bay, excellent dive sites, a coral reef with lots of species identified including whale sharks, great variety of dune buggy adventures and jungle ATV tours that offer unforgettable experiences for the whole family, without leaving behind its exquisite cuisine based on seafood.

Also noted is the kindness and quality of service offered by the islanders to cruise passengers, for which they have already obtained the highest satisfaction ratings within cruise companies. For all this that the Island of Roatan has been positioned high in the preference of cruise companies.

The return of cruise ships represents a great boost to the reactivation of tourism in Honduras and the island in particular, being its main economic activity, which contributes to the increase in jobs and foreign exchange, due to the expense that cruise passengers make either shopping for souvenirs, internal transportation, recreational activities, and restaurants, during the approximately seven hours that the ship remains in port.
